In the mid 20’s Sam Kamaka invented this cool and ergonomic shape about equal in size and shape to a pineapple, and apply named – the pineapple ukulele. Their is slightly more body without the sides cut in and it gives this soprano such a sweet mellow tone, very warm. The pineapple was a hit from the beginning, and 80 some years later the Kamaka brothers continue to consistently give us great Pineapples with sweet tones!
